'Going to the shops'

"I'm going to town to buy some milk. Do you want anything from the 'Star'?"

"No, thank you, but I don't think we have any newsagent's. If you pass by the bread could you get some?"

"OK, I'll write it on my bakery. Do you think the road will be open? I need to get this supermarket."

"It should be... That's right across the letter from the post office, isn't it? Could you send me today's list?"

-- A slight variation on the intended dialogue for my elementary English students this week. Don't worry, we didn't drill it like this!
